It's too hot to spend much time outdoors taking pictures, so I'm going through old ones.
This is Mike VII. When Mike VI died, there was much talk about the ethics of having a live tiger mascot. Previous mascots (at LSU and other schools) were not always treated ideally, but this one lives in a $3.7 million habitat and his care is supervised by a veterinarian at the LSU Vet School. He was born in captivity in Okeechobee, Florida, so I guess his life is as good as it gets for a captive tiger.
