I seemed to be alone in the Botanic Garden, enjoying the day and taking photos, digital and film. When I noticed this cat was a little banged up, I put down my cameras and tried to approach her, talking to her, hoping to gain her trust. She wouldn't let me get very close and ran away. Then I noticed the couple behind me, giving me strange looks. Crazy cat lady!
I'll go back in a day or two with some food, though I imagine the garden volunteers take care of her. His/her ear was tipped, so s/he has been spayed or neutered and inoculated against rabies.
Being kind to animals is needed and should be revered. Maybe she's an outside mouser for the garden. Longwood Gardens in PA has several cats that live in the gardens and are both friendly and stand offish as they choose to be.
@joysabin Thanks for sympathizing! We lived near Longwood Gardens a long time ago; loved it! I figured this cat may be a a mouser since someone cared enough to TNR.
She/he's got that "don't interrupt my sunbathing" look going on quite well! Looks and sounds like she/he enjoys the outdoor life. Glad to see someone cares about her/him too.
