Parker United Methodist Church by eudora

Parker United Methodist Church

New Orleans, Louisiana

Another church that appears to be closed.

Nifty fifty sooc
The sepia tone gives it a vintage look that suits the building well.

I like the POV and composition of this shot. You must spend hours walking around to get so many fabulous photos

Agree with Chris and Katy on all counts!

Great shot for sepia- I'm not surprised it's closed. Although I work for this denomination, I know it's "dying"- lots of policies and political stances are taking over Wesley's original concept of what a church should do and be, and some churches are dropping out of the denomination in order to move to other branches of Methodism that are more in line with ministry and directed by politics or agendas.

@olivetreeann Interesting comments about the Methodist church. My in-laws left the it after being members for 50 years because of its policies and the assignment of pastors who were at odds with their congregation. Their church later closed, but there were multiple reasons for it, including changing neighborhoods. Unfortunately, here in the South, race has often been a factor in disagreements between individual congregations and the denomination.
