We are a nation of immigrants

This old Catholic cemetery has many people interred who were natives of Italy. Others were descended from French people, some from New Orleans and others Acadians (Cajuns) who were forced to leave Canada and migrated to Louisiana. Their cultures blended with many others--Native American, African, Spanish, Anglo, German, Irish, Vietnamese, Latin American--to make Louisiana (and America) what we are today.

Such an interesting grave. I think New Orleans is definitely a melting pot of immigrants confined into a very small space.

I love NOLA’s cemeteries and stories. Like your narrative also!
