Thank you! The flower the insect is on is just 1/4" across, so that gives you an idea of how tiny it is!

Wonderful colour and comp. Sometimes bougainvillea are so bright, it hurs my eyes. But with this darkish background it is just beautiful. The insect, of course I do not really know. But I call them thunderbugs/thrips.
