Cocktails anyone? by evalieutionspics

Cocktails anyone?

I made another stab at the b/w glassware challenge mostly because I wasn't very happy with yesterday's result. I still can't get one of my flashguns to fire so I used my lightbox with part of the light blocked. I got more even lighting, but could never get the light/glass position right so that I got the front edge of the glass. My attempt at white was horrible because I didn't have a seamless background.

Still, it was another learning experience, and those are always good.
are you crazy? this is not ho-hum! this is wow! aces!

This is fabulous Eva,... huge fav. I have no idea why your flashgun does not fire. I just know that mine only flashes, when the internal camera flash is open. So I open it, and cover it with a black cloth. But again, this is a really great shot.

@summerfield Thank you so much for your encouraging comments! Since one of my flashguns wasn't working, I used my jewelry photo set up. In it, I have two light boxes. Each box is approximately 10 x 10 x 18" and has two 100w daylight bulbs. They are all black on the outside, white on the inside and covered on the open side with matte translucent parchment. I have additional parchment over the open side to help cut the glare on highly polished jewelry. I can also add different color translucent or matte paper to get different color effects. For this one, I put black on the back and under the glass pane that is the floor of the set-up. I also used matte black to cover up most of the lightboxes...leaving only about 4" to supply the bright light needed to get a reflection in the glass.
