Waiting for the Garden

Yesterday, we went to the nursery to get some plants for the aviary. We bought all kinds of things that reseed easily, handle the heat, and that the birds can eat.
Of course, even though we talked up the plants to the girls before we put them in the aviary, the plants were instant parrot killers and had to be avoided at all costs. We even tried eating some of them to show that they weren't really parrot killers. They didn't believe us. I don't know how long they will avoid them. Perhaps they will be aviary beautifiers rather than parrot foraging plants

We also bought some of these for the garden because we thought they were so pretty. We are researching whether or not they will join the ranks of parrot killers. ;)
wow! One of my favourites. We won't see these until at least May/June. Fancy there being plants dangerous parrots. I presume in the wild they just know to avoid them. Probably the prettiest aviary in Cyprus!

Humans thought Tomatoes were killers for quite a while, until some brave soul said, "Wow, this is tasty!" and survived. Such an interesting flower.
