"...You will let me sit on your lap."

Squintley was trying to persuade me that the fake cat lap was not adequate, and that surely there was room for him, my keyboard and my pen tablet on my lap...the REAL cat lap. He is trying to use his hypnotic stare for extra effect.
Very cool capture, and your caption made me smile.

Look at that cat's eye...WOW!

What is technique 70? His eye color reminds me of an abalone shell...beautiful!

fab focus, how did you get cat to stay still long enough to focus
April 3rd, 2017
Beautiful eye. I agree with Jackie, my cat is only that still if asleep.

@gardenfolk Thank you so much! His eyes are usually a greenish yellow, but the light was hitting them at just the right angle. I have never seen them with that aqua color in them before.

I have tried to post a link to the technique70 challenge twice, but have failed miserably. :( It is on the Themes and Competitions page 2. This time it is on shallow depth of field. I very much enjoy doing them because they usually make me push out of my comfort zone and learn new things.

@skstein Thank you so much! :)

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you! He was so intent on trying to get me to change my mind about letting him on my lap, that getting the focus wasn't a problem, The problem was the wind kept blowing a palm frond in front of the window and messing up the light!

@cmsch52 Thank you very much! Squintley and Garfield were cut from the same bolt of fabric. I think his middle name might be Sloth. :)

I love the eye, too!

Thank you for your attempts. I will check it out. I am not up to speed on photography techniques and language...yet. :)

Awesome - and yes, I love his eye too!

And how can you resist that stare? One of my cats was like that too, her eyes, usually green inside, often took on a beautiful aqua tone when she was out in the garden.
