Everyone's truly lovely aurora photos inspired me to try some night photos of my own. No chance of auroras for me since I am completely in both the wrong hemisphere for those the wrong location of my hemisphere. I can't drive at night, so I am limited to my garden until my guy gets home. I figure that is good practice though.
I am actually amazed at this image. When I was focusing, I could only see about half a dozen of the stars in the sky, that is how bad my night vision is. I was so surprised when I put it on my PC and saw all of those stars. My goodness! The trees are being illuminated by the condos across the valley across from the house. As I was taking the photos, I was being serenaded by a Scops owl from the palm tree. I am so blessed to live in such a peaceful place.
I can't wait to be able to go up into the Akamas where there are truly dark skies to see what I can photograph there.
