When I was going into my workshop this afternoon, I startled this little guy who had been basking on the step. He scurried up the wall, and I went in to get my camera hoping he would just be on the other side of the wall so I could get a photo. I quietly peeked around the corner and saw him on the wall, quickly focused, and got the only image possible since the angle was impossible given the plant he was hiding behind. And...I was trying to be sneaky. I got two shots before he said, "Enough is enough!" and ran away.
I think he is beautiful. I like all his wee scales and their random colors and non-patterns. And I love the look in his eye. I think that is an "If looks could kill" look. Perhaps I should check my pulse.
He is doing his best to give you a stern look, but it is difficult to take him seriously as behind the look, is such a friendly little fellow (or so I imagine). The patterns and colouring of the scales on his back are, as you say, beautiful.
