When I went out to put a load of laundry in this morning, I glanced down and saw this guy by the ladder to the pool. I quickly put the laundry down and carefully scooped him up because didn't want the dogs to be tempted. They all know "leave it!" but there is no sense in taking risks. The other reason I scooped him up, is we find so many of these wonderful creatures in the pool. I took him to a safer area, washed my hands, grabbed my camera, and waited for him to come out of hiding.
I think they are such beautiful creatures. The arrangement of the scales on their heads and the rapidity of the way they change their coloring boggles my wee brain. When I looked out later, I couldn't see him, so I am hoping he has skedaddled to someplace safe with lots of bugs.
