Twisted Seasons

Coming back to Colorado after my Wyoming adventures, I had to travel to southwest Colorado after a snowstorm had hit the Colorado Rockies! This is Capitol Peak near Aspen, Colorado. The drive can be a bit treacherous on dry roads, but with a snowfall...it's even more precarious. I felt pretty confident on the way up and probably over confident on the way down. Suffice to say, my 4Runner and I are all in one piece, but someone else had run into a tree on the way down. As I lost control of my truck, in 4 low mind you, I saw the tracks into the tree and tried desperately not to have the same fate. Thank God I was able to regain control and make it safely down the mountain without incident. I felt blessed to capture this scene and to have been spared what could have been a long night on the mountain.
