When I first saw the bottom image, I thought it was a cement cover floating, but realized it was the tail of this battle scarred manatee. The white scars on its upper body near the head are from a boat propeller. There were 8 manatees in our canal yesterday lolling around in the sunshine and surfacing lazily now and then for a snort of fresh air.
