We got a huge amount of snow during a March storm. Calves huddled close to mom the whole day.
But, now, the sun is bright and warm, and calves are old enough to explore.
@smithak No, he isn't cold at all.
I saw him hoppin and boppin through the trees, having a grand old time!
A cold animal will have his back hunched and head hanging down. He will be fine as long as Mom is well fed and can give him as much milk as he needs to stay warm and grow.
The trick is to keep Mom in good shape, and baby will do just fine.
