I decided to take some pictures when the sun was still low in the sky - which is easy to do now that the sun does not rise until 7:30 am rather than the totally unreasonable 5 am.
I had fun playing with the light. The green specks in the background are leaves on trees. I rather like the sun flare as well.

Thank you all for your comments. I really liked this photo when I saw it since I set the ISO and aperture to get the best possible definition. Love your description of grass fireworks, Pat - as a matter of fact I think I will change my title to that!
@granagringa I really do not do a whole lot of post processing - this is SOOC - I didn't even crop this one. I try to get the best photo possible since my post processing skills are VERY limited.
