The 52 week challenge for this week is land, and as a farmer, I definitely have some strong views on that!
It is said that we do not own the land, but are just borrowing it from our children. Farmers, more than anyone, live this reality. Farmers, be they dairy, conventional, natural, organic, livestock, poultry, (and the list goes on) are the true caretakers of the land.
Yet there is perpetual controversy over land use and farming practices. Perhaps those who protest the loudest should consider land purchase in order to protect the land.
Still catching up on the 52 week challenge. I will get there yet!
Such an appealing image, Wendy. So well composed.. it's very restful, nice to dwell upon. I can imagine it printed and framed... hanging by the front door perhaps.
I love the tones and lines.. good for you being a farmer..after a stint of trying to grow market vegetables and milking goats on our horse property a couple of years ago ..I decided it was easier to go back to nursing...
I think people underestimate the work involved in any sort of farm..even our own horses, vegetable garden and chickens takes time each day..so my hat off to anyone who is actually working on a farm..
