I find both setting up the Christmas tree and taking it down equally pleasant - but in different ways.
There is an exciting giddiness to decorating the tree with much loved ornaments, setting out Christmas paraphernalia throughout the house, and stringing lights outside to prepare for the arrival of Santa and numerous house guests.
Yet, there is a calm peacefulness taking down the tree and packing up all the Christmas accessories.
Especially when it is so darn cold that you really do not want to go out to do anything else!
This is the only thing I did today - and the only photo I took so it will have to do!
BTW - this is the earliest that I have ever got this particular chore done! Hubby is so pleased!
I agree with you on both occasions being enjoyable. I have finally learned I don’t have to get everything done in one day and that makes both times pleasant and even fun. This is a beautiful photo!

This was the ONLY thing I did and so, I did grab a quick shot rather than have an empty day on my calendar so early in the year. I am sure I will slack off later - always do!
My Dad always quoted someone, “The two most beautiful places in the world are your home when you first put up the Christmas tree, and your home when you first take down the Christmas 🎄 “

Oh, goodness! Three trees - no wonder it takes you awhile!
I just have one tree in the living room - and then decorate the rest of the house with the pictures, statutes, nativities and other such stuff.
@farmreporter Yes, 20 years ago I had 5 trees. Thank goodness I came to my senses and now just have 3. I go all out at Christmas, and have decorations everywhere. My granddaughter said “Granny you have to always put your Christmas up”. I said it wouldn’t be long till she will have to help me! I do love it!
Terrific photo! Love how you filled the frame with your beautiful ornaments. I just finished packing all my Christmas decorations away in the bins today. Tomorrow we'll put everything up in the attic. I do get a little sad taking the tree down but at the same time it feels so good to have everything in the house back to normal. :-)
