Raisin River by farmreporter

Raisin River

One of Canada's first explorers, David Thompson, started his expeditions at this location in Williamstown, following the Raisin River down to the mighty St. Lawrence and on to points west.
i stay away from rivers and waters during the winter. i almost had an accident a few years ago, taking photos of the icy shore of lake ontario and i didn't realize i was on icy grounds. where i stood the ice actually cracked and i didn't think i could be that elastic and sort of leapt off to the sand and near safety. i was alone and the people on the beach were too far to have seen me. with a heavy winter jacket and two cameras, one on my wrist and the other around my neck, i could've been the late summerfield had i fallen on the water. our waters are beautiful to photograph but they're dangerous if only for the fact that they are too cold even in the summer!

Lovely image of that cold river and the small bushes in the front give it added interest.
