Jump to It

I spent a couple of hours at the Vankleek Hill fair watching, and photographing the jumping classes.
I had this shot all set up just waiting for the perfect moment when a grey haired lady moved into the photo (lower left) and I lifted my camera to save the shot.
Grrr ... you can't tell how high this jump actually is now and it looks as if the horse is just stepping over a low pole!
Oh well.
Got to find a better competition that isn't as cluttered around the outside anyway.

having watched too many equestrian events, i can tell this was a rather high jump. the intensity of the rider's face says it all. aces on the shot, and boo to that grey haired lady!

I rather like the 'clutter'. It gives a sense of varied transport to attend such an event and so makes a subtle social/community observation.
