I have been trying to get a bird in flight forever - and learned so much that I will NEVER forget about what to do when doing this.
First - take your auto focus off and manually set the focus to infinity so that everything is in focus when you manage to get the bird in your sight.
This is not done that way but I got lucky with him in relatively good focus without it. I thought about the focus thing later in the evening when I was looking for a nice photo to upload and had to delete the majority of my flight shots due to poor focus.
For the 52 Week challenge - late but it is what I wanted for this particular challenge.

like the last 2 years, my 52-week project this year has also fallen by the wayside. i couldn't think enough of anything creative for the prompts. you seem to be able to cope with it and i'm jealous! aces on this shot.
