I really enjoy my roses all summer long. I make sure the roses I plant are repeat bloomers; I fertilize and dead-head them to keep them blooming all summer long, and make sure they are healthy and prolific throughout the summer.
But, it is recommended that I stop doing that mid to late August to give them the opportunity to set their hips in order to prepare for winter.
So sad to see roses dying and drying on the stem, but it is part of the aging process!
For week 19 - way back - of the 52 Week Challenge. Better late than never!
That sounds perfect!
