I am the spare bus driver for Campeau, a bus company that operates in both the provinces of Quebec and Ontario in Canada.
I do not have a regular school route like most school bus drivers but am sent all over the place as spare driver. I drive school bus routes in areas completely new to me when the regular driver needs time off. I was very nervous when I first started this job, but have since developed a flair for finding my way down new country (and city) roads all without a the aid of a GPS.
My bosses affectionately call me the "Super Driver".
And, since I do not have a regular route, I am guaranteed a minimum of 20 hours a week but usually work over 30 hours of split shift ... hence my sporadic time with 365 lately.
But, no complaints from my end though. I do enjoy the change of scenery on a daily basis. And, I even occasionally get a fun charter where I can take my camera out for a spin while my passengers do their field trip.
I always admire the school-bus drivers and and enjoyed several trips with my kids on them as a chaperone. Love the picture and am happy to hear that you love your job!
