I hanging out in the shady orchard almost as much as the chickens do. It's good to relax after spending time in the veggie garden doing the spring planting. Work never ends on the farm!

How nice! I used to have a privileged chick. She was born with a defect on her hip, and she had the privilege to live outside the chicks enclosure. She was quite a lot of fun. We are no longer permitted to grow chicken in the area where I live (excuse me, high end citizens - ahem! sarcastic tone warning) and I long to have a chick or two around the yard, like pets. But my dogs don't agree... And I am always happy when i see pictures of chicken. And the feathers of this one resemble much the feathers of my privileged chick.
