The Old Stump Tree by farmreporter

The Old Stump Tree

I was told that the reason there are so many old lone trees in fields around here is that they were used as leverage to pull out stumps before the days of stump grinders.
They were left standing since there was obviously no other tree around to pull out their stump!
A very pretty sight

OH - that's a bit sad - I can almost hear the trees shouting out "Pick me, Pick me!"
This one looks quite majestic in its surrounds. :)
