I had the opportunity to go to the Granby Zoo with my daughter and her two sons.
It was a wonderful day of wandering and looking at the exhibits.
They had a lot of great animals that were very well cared for. You could not fault the caretakers on their husbandry.
But most of the animals looked bored and/or unhappy.
This big guy broke my heart.
i always thought the animals at the zoo look sad. well, who'd be happy being in captivity. no matter how large the space is, it is still limited for the animals to really run around. you captured this one so beautifully. aces!
An ethical dilemma for sure. No zoos and then none of us are ever able to see a wild animal besides those indigenous to where we live, or treat the animals well and allow us to enrich our lives by seeing them.
