The Lowly Beet in B&W by farmreporter

The Lowly Beet in B&W

Tim @tdaug80 challenged me to create a B&W photograph of a single vegetable. He suggested that I might be inspired by Edward Weston who is famous for his black and white shots of peppers and other vegetables.
Edward Weston was noted for his sharp images of every day objects - there was no fuzzy soft focus in his work. As a matter of fact, he co-founded Group f.64, a loose association of California photographers who promoted a style of sharply detailed, purist photography.
I love his work, Tim! Here is my interpretation of a beet Ala Edward Weston! I concentrated on getting the everything sharp in this shot.

Thank you for the awesome challenge, Tim! I love the work of Edward Weston and attempted his pepper once before. He was quite the pioneer.

You made this very appealing! like the way you composed it with the hanging leaves. This came out fantastic in B&W.

@farmreporter Excellent response! That's just what I had in mind. Now, I need to get to work on your challenge. As you can see from my album, I have been neglecting my photography in favor of other activities, lately.
