September Words - Long Exposure by farmreporter

September Words - Long Exposure

Well - I know long exposure is usually associated with movement and blurriness but I have been doing zoom for the last couple of days already. Besides, zoom changes focal length and I am combining Richard's NF-SOOC-2018 challenge with September words so zoom is out for that!
I did do some ICM shots, and they were okay. But the late evening deepening shadows made these birch trees glow so I was more drawn to them.
And so, this long exposure shot does not show movement but rather is the need to decrease shutter speed in the darker woods..
And it is hand held to boot!! I was leaning up against a tree for support in addition to using the optical stabilizer to get it so steady.
Very nice contrasts when viewed on the black background

Thank you, Kathy! I never even considered looking at in black but you are right - it absolutely pops on black!

Nicely composed. Love how dark the woods appear the further into them the eyes go :-)

Love silver birches. There is a place we go where they are all in a line like this!
