Walked 2.5 miles. Then ran 2.5 miles. Then walked 2.5 miles back home.
It was humid. I worked up a sweat. I was soaked by the time I finished.
Took this shot as I was heading back from the park.
Thought about work for a little bit, although I really try to leave work...at work.
I sometimes hate when patients ask about my personal life or about my feelings. Have to answer carefully but authentically. Self disclosure is an interesting tool. Doing what I do...well it's kind of voyeuristic, in a way. And the "relationship" with the patient is most certainly not balanced.
Do yourself a favor...Never ask your therapist what they think of you or how they feel. Because they can't really tell you EVERYTHING. And that alone, might drive you batty.
...
I've been solo these past three days.
I love my "me" time. But there's a point...
...when I've had enough me time. Husband comes home later. I sent him a text with a smiley. Instead of circles for eyes, the smiley has hearts. Heart eyes. 😍 I kind of chuckled to myself as I thought of my post the other day about communicating and modern technology.
I don't feel like cooking tonight. I suppose popcorn for dinner isn't a good idea.
The sound of my sneakers against the gravel as I jogged was comforting.
Lost in my thoughts...just thinking...and then letting it go...turning up the volume on my iPod...and then running, running, running...
I'll be in the gym early tomorrow morning, hitting the weights, that's my therapy too in the same way, feels good. I like this shot, very cool! And thanks for sharing those thoughts, interesting as always, stay away from popcorn for dinner though :)
Hell yeah. I truly believe that exercise is the perfect medicine for any ailment. I'd probably need a therapist if I couldn't get a workout. Nice low pov in this shot.
@streats thanks, Ian. Exercise is a healthy outlet for a lot of things. As for the popcorn, I'm happy to report I had something healthier for dinner lol.
@islandk8@paulie@tosee I actually didn't want to post this because it's a cliché kind of shot but it was a shot I felt captured the mood of my day. Thanks for the positive feedback!
@jbc2013 thanks, Josh! Exercise has so many benefits. I often "prescribe" exercise to my patients who are depressed or anxious as part of my treatment recommendations.
Profound thoughts over a wide range. I love the capture even though it has 'been done before'. Just as well that's 'permitted' !! With all that exercise you must be very fit, but don't expect you to disclose 8-) Fav on multiple levels.
This shot may have been done before, but not by you. We all deserve a little me time. I personally, deserve a lot of me time. These days I don't spend much time thinking about work. I spend my time thinking about the people I care about. Congrats on logging all those miles! That's very cool. Enjoy your reunion tonight ;)
great shot - I had to run with no iPOD the other day - I did not hate it as much as I thought - (I did not like it but did not hate it either) must have been the 100 degree heat...LOL
Done before yes, but this is excellent -- thanks for sharing your thoughts. I often think I go a little too far sharing with patients, but I think they love my honesty : )
