Been trying to get the barred owl in flight! Today I caught him as he was leaving the tree. His wing span is amazing and I look forward to trying to photograph him in flight again! It's always a challenge trying to photograph birds in flight! Take a look at the size of his feet!
@fayefaye ... these owls are tough subjects to photograph. First one must find them, and then they have to cooperate for the photoshoot! This morning I found a Snowy Owl just before sunrise. I then waited for decent light and set up my flight shot. Now we all know that large raptors always launch into the wind. Thus, I had framed the expected photo to cover the large wingspan, and some area for the takeoff. Guess what, the owl pivoted on its perch and launched downwind?!? Don' t these owls understand the trouble we photographers go through to record their images? LOL.!
