Way to Early

Not sure why this little chipmunk was out this morning as it was -8 when I took this photo. Way to early for him to come out of hibernation! Just being nosy I guess. Lol

None of the squirrels in my back yard ever seem to hibernate. I’ve read that hibernation depends more on shortage of food rather than on weather or temperature so maybe we are both putting out too many seeds etc. Which is keeping the squirrels awake all winter. Really nice capture BTW.

@gardencat This is a chipmunk and they usually hibernate but our squirrels here don't hibernate and don't seem to mind the winter weather.
