Taken in a paint store this morning. I was impressed because of the way the little blocks showed how the colours would look in light and shade and you could even see how they looked in similar conditions under fluorescent lighting. Also taken to remind me of the day I rashly decided to paint the kitchen cabinets myself - the job may be finished by Christmas.
What an excellent demonstration of the subjectivity of colour! It perfectly emphasises that colour is not a property of the object but of the light that falls on it! fav
@sugarmuser Oh me too! Usually get the wrong colour but am playing it super safe this time with boring cream. Maybe jazz the walls up a little or after this marathon, maybe not!
@robz The girl in the shop did seem rather surprised when I asked if I could take a picture of them! I just thought they were colourful and vaguely Escher-like.
ooh they are VERY Escher like..I love this..would love this in my classroon...hahaha can you send it...wouldn't the shop be surprised if you went back and asked to have the wall...hahahahaha I can see it now
@huvesaker There are some rather beautiful swatches of material the size of shawls right next to the blocks - am so surprised at the reception this has had, I hardly expected anything in the way of comments - must tell the girl in the shop how well the display has gone down!
we obviously all love colour because this went high up on the TT well done (yes tell the shop and I hope you get a discount or a spot doing advertising images for them even)
@koalagardens Thank you, I was so surprised with the comments on this one. Am just about to spend quite a bit of money there on paint but they've all been so incredibly helpful I don't want to push my luck - they even moved all the pricing info out of the way so I could get a clear shot:)
