I was hoping for a shot of the six Silver Dollars in the aquarium all in a row, just like the pictures in the aquarist magazines. Easier said than done! I find I quickly forget about the camera's capabilities if I don't use it regularly so this was a brush up on shutter speed and ISO with a venture into unchartered territory re WB. Plus the fact the subjects were hungry and expected to be fed so were swimming around in a rather agitated fashion wondering why dinner hadn't arrived. They are fast movers too. Then the Clown Loaches joined in and disrupted things further. I am not going to confess how many shots I had to take to get this, it would be most embarrassing! Despite being a last minute subject choice, this was fun!
The aquarist magazines probably used Photoshop so you're chasing impossible shot??
Don't be embarrassed at getting the shot you wanted, that's the joy of digital and the light and shade and vibrancy here very worthy of a magazine shot!!!
Nothing to be embarrassed about, I can quite image the final images we see in the mags are NOT the only ones taken! It sounds like you had fun and learned a few things. Awesome!
Your narrative made me chuckle as it sounded like me trying to achieve the almost impossible. I definitely feel your frustration. You have certainly captured the movement of the fish.
