Get Pushed 311

My Get Pushed partner this week is Joan @joansmor who challenged me to produce a panorama of 8+ photos stitched together and then turned into b&w.

I loved this challenge, Elements does most of the work for you, and the biggest problem I had was selecting an appropriate viewpoint.
@joansmor Hi Joan, this is the view from the top of the Downs overlooking Folkestone. The Martello tower is in the middle of the picture, and the harbour arm is to the right of it. The English Channel stretches beyond the town and you can probably make out a few tiny boats in the distance. On a clear day France is visible, but not today. I hope you like it, this is 17 images stitched together. Felicity

@phil_howcroft I use Elements 11 Phil and it does most of the work for you if you do sufficient overlap on the photos. Do try it, it's great fun:)

Great panorama! I am glad you said where it was because I was having trouble placing it. Where were you, Capel?

17 images! That's amazing. I have a new laptop and will need to buy a new editing program - could you tell me please if your Elements program has a transparency brush? And are you generally happy with it? Cheers Rob :)

@robz Hi Rob - I don't know what a transparency brush is I'm afraid. You can alter the opacity if that's any help it or add things to a transparent background. I'm very happy with Elements and you can pick up older versions on EBay for not much money. It will cope with quite a few more pics than 20ish and if you stack the panoramas of sky, buildings etc separately you could probably blend shots of 50 images. I don't think my computer will be able to cope though. Have fun on your new computer and if you get Elements, do try the Nik free filters which I would not want to be without these days:)

@fbailey Thanks so much for the advice FB - it sounds like a good program that doesn't cost the Earth. And I'll remember your suggestion re the Nik filters. Thanks again Cheers Rob :)
