My challenge this week was from Wendy @wenbow who asked me to blend two images of my choice together. These are two of my favourite pictures from this year - a twisted tree and a barn at sunset. To make them look a little different from the originals I flipped the images and then played with a Nik filter.
@wenbow Hi Wendy, I hope the above is acceptable to you. I wasn't entirely sure whether you wanted me to use double exposure, in camera overlay or Photoshop so I elected to try the latter. My phojo may be somewhat lacking but it's certainly renewed my love of Photoshop! The main problem I had was extracting the tree from its original background and then discovering lots of little branches that needed touching up as they were edged in white ... Apart from the fiddle factor it was great fun, so thank you. It all helped expand my knowledge of layers and cloning where I'd been over enthusiastic with the eraser tool. Felicity
It's a striking shot ... but as an amateur, old-school purist I cannot possibly approve of combining images unless done in camera with multiple exposure! (Sorry Wendy! @wenbow ) Don't mind me... your skill at manipulating images with software is way beyond mine. :-)
@bigmxx I felt just like you Michelle so I joined Get Pushed. You don't have to be experienced at photography or used to Photoshop. The challenges are set to give you a nudge towards something new. I fought shy of joining as I thought I just wasn't up to it but I've learned so much and It's really good fun:) Give it a try!
