Today's sunset promised to be spectacular. We pulled over at the nearest spot and had high hopes of capturing a beauty. Sadly it proved not to be and turned out to be somewhat nondescript pastel shades. Apologies to the purists out there, this is how I think it should have been!
I thought from your description that this wasn’t the shot you got... there’s no reason tor an apology here... this is gorgeous! The colors, the depth and your comp and framing but most of all, the sun flare! This is fantastic!
@elatedpixie Thanks so much but this is enhanced or 'cooked' as I call it. The original was disappointingly bland. Confession - I added a lens flare to the sun as well ...
this was the sunset we had yesterday, but framed with heavy snow clouds. it was so surreal seeing part of the horizon in pastel pink and yellow and yet right above it you could discern the snow falling on a nearby area. if you didn't disclose the processing done, nobody would've suspected. aces!
