Abstract #27 by fbailey

Abstract #27

A tiny fragment of a fossil from Folkestone beach, found when the tide exposed the Gault clay. When wet you can spot them by the iridescent sheen but when dry they blend in with their surroundings so well they're hard to spot.
Very cool texture and tones! I like it and a great find!

Fossil hunter here!! I would have had a hard time trying to get that fossil home. Kinda reminds me of an ammonite. Love the iridescent colors!!

@dawrenda Hello fellow fossil hunter! Have you found many? The few I have are very small, but I keep hoping for a really big one. I'm going to put up a couple more fragments as fillers for August, hope to see some of your fossils:)

I like this viewed on the black background. The colors, though muted, still glow.

@fbailey yes we have a few giant ammonites along with many other fossils. Lake Texhoma is a great place to find them. I will have to get some pics taken and share. I have all kinds of fossils and petrified wood incorporated in our walkways and our rock borders along flower beds.
