Robber Fly, Day 2 by featherstone26

Robber Fly, Day 2

Yes, I do believe I went to the wild park property edge behind us and found the same robber fly today that I found yesterday. He was only about 8 feet away from yesterday's sighting, plus I usually only see one once a year.

This time he was lunching on a Japanese beetle, which is an invasive, destructive insect. So yay for the Robber Fly!

You must see him larger and on black. Unless bugs make you squeamish...then continue on to a pretty picture.
What a wonderful close-up

When I saw a Japanese beetle meeting its doom on the Curated Page, I had to come have a closer look! Loathe those horrid insects. Hooray for the R.Fly who ate the beetle.
