I had seen some wonderful under-stated pale shots and fancied doing something white-on-white... played with this shell and various lights, then fiddled with processing to get rid of grubby marks for ages last night until I couldn't see for looking.
Thank you all so much for viewing and commenting on my little bit of wet grass yesterday... I wouldn't have seen the appeal of it before doing this project and your comments encourage me all the way :)
This is very elegant. You've manages to balance all the shades of pale so that they are still clearly distinguisable. I have no idea what it is though!
Just because of the title you gave this shot, you might be interested in one of my older shots (I'm a bit of an anorak when it comes to Hammond organs ;-) http://365project.org/helstor/365/2011-07-03
lovely white on white - there's a tag for this style (not sure what) from last year - can't remember why we did it, but there was a challenge towards the end of the year.
@helstor Thanks Helge! It's a shell, by the way. Better put that in the description. I thought it was a clean white shell until I took a photo of it - so had to clean it up on the screen which drove me potty. Pottier. (!) :)
Great shot! I haven't done white on white yet. I don't know if I could do it. I don't do well with editing or processing. I'm a plain take a pic and get 'er done kind of person.... A job well done for you, Phil!
