I saw Davide's shot of himself reflected in a ladle ( http://365project.org/woot/365/2012-02-12) and decided I wanted to try to do something similar. Bought a ladle and it took me months to get around to it! Davide's kitchen looked much tidier than mine, so I got the garden instead.
Huge thanks to anyone who viewed or commented on the little dawg running happily along yesterday. I had to virtually lie on the ground to get anywhere near below him but it was worth it for those ears!
Have a wonderful week :)
@woot Well I guess it looks familiar! I got the ladle out and it was too convex so I had to use the old one after all... nearly snapped it bending it back! I prefer yours with the better reflection and clear background :)
nice one! I've been waiting for this for quite a while!!! your picture is exposed for the green outside rather than for the reflection: I did the opposite and got just white all around the ladle. I like your take on this too!!!
I did not pay attention to all the geometry in this image at first sight: taking a second look and like how you've taken advantage on the lines of the window to frame this and I like it
@woot Thank you.... I fiddled for ages to try and make sure the lines didn't disagree with each other! You're absolutely right about the exposure, my face is quite dark in the reflection (though that's no bad thing!) Next time I will 1-iron the teatowel 2-tidy the kitchen!! :)
:oD I love your comments Phil. You sound just like me. The number of times I've taken shots in rooms around the house and then had to reject them due to the room being too messy :o) I like this. I'll have to look back through Davide's @woot shots to see which one you're talking about. It may in fact be my shot for tomorrow xx
Know what you're saying, I did a reflection selfie in March that gave a fisheye effect. Lots of light, so toys and clutter was very visible.... Good work on matching up all those lines.
@woot Buongiorno! I had a look at it with fresh eyes this morning and decided I liked the light airiness of yours... went mad and cropped out the thick door frames (which got rid of the distracting blue doors outside too) and added a sort of frosty vignette too. It will never have the clarity of yours as the ladle is too scratched but I think I like it better. ?
