Thought this photo summed up our trip to the Olympics... immaculate Javelin trains took us straight to 'Stratford International' and the Olympic village, where we mixed with spectators, competitors, young and old, voices of all nationalities and faces, clothes, hair of all colours! The stewards were so helpful and jolly - everyone was smiling. Even us, when we got here, to the ticket barriers. We could see the 'A' shapes of the top of the olympic stadium and the 'Orbit' structure but could go no further without tickets...
Still, you can see we were just excited to be there! We vowed to return for the Paralympic games and made our way to Hyde Park and the huge screens instead. So close......!!
I can't tell you how lovely it is to wearily come downstairs and sleepily start the chores then see lovely messages pop up from fellow 365ers. You're wonderful, and I appreciate each and every one! Off for a few days, will be back to catch up and upload before my 366th day! I have so many of your super shots to catch up with...
Have a marvellous weekend x
Great that you were able to get some of the atmosphere.
Congratulations on you imminent graduation from the 365 University. It must be an immense relief but I hope you'll continue to drop in from time to time.
Your kids have beautiful smiles! My daughter worked in the athletes village during the Winter Olympics 2 years ago. She loved every minute of it but especially enjoyed the athletes at the Paralympic games. From what I've seen, London has done an outstanding job hosting these Olympics, it must be a very exciting atmosphere around England!
Hey Phil, I was hoping you'd get a picture of that sculpture, and there it is! I didn't even notice it the first time I looked. I was focussed on the kids. Bravo!
beautiful portrait! now I'm here in the Alps, supposed to take a break from the internet... following you to the end is one of the main reasons I'm breaking all the propositions:) three more pictures to go...
What a fantastic thing to do. I'm sure that you were still able to pick up on the atmosphere without having tickets to get in. A shot to treasure :o) xx
