Went to London, early, wearing my 'Birthday Girl' badge, carrying new camera and clutching tickets to the Paralympic Games!! Can't describe the excitement we felt, the atmosphere that we enjoyed and the awesomeness of the feats we saw. (I don't use that word often). I think this moment is one that will stay with me - the realisation that the men in orange vests were guides for the runners... who were blind. Seeing them running with such determination, such confidence and faith in their guides made me feel so humble.. and also a little ashamed of all I think I can't do.
And gosh did the crowd clap and cheer each time they came past....
Lots of wonderful sights that day, I'm sure more will sneak into my 2nd album, but this one will stay with me.
I mwah a kiss back at all of you who looked at, liked or commented on my kissy fish shot! Thank you X
So today is your birthday! Happy Birthday to You! Did you receive any cold hard cash? Very motivating capture! We should all have such courage and trust in our fellow man!
Wow! Great shot to show the amazingness of it! I'm just thinking how tricky it would be to be a guide too - having to match the runner's speed and help them navigate the track without providing extra assistance. Fantastic feats of teamwork! Happy birthday too! :)
An astonishing capture! One of my daughter's school friend's from her primary school days is in the GB blind football team. It was so wonderful to see him being interviewed the other morning. A wonderful Birthday treat for you by the sounds of it. Happy Belated Birthday xx
The paralympians are way more inspirational in my books than the olympians... just wish they got better coverage on tv than they do. I have caught a few races with the wheelchairs with Oskar watching and told him about it... he was so excited that the next night he called out that they were on again! Great shot :)
happy birthday!!!! I remember you telling me the best people were born in August:) this is a fantastic action shot; so you got a new camera as bday present: yay!
