It's bonkers, but this one was tricky.... first I had to find something rusty in the shape of a H (fail), then I had to manipulate something rusty into the shape of a H. Then I had to shoot it so you could see the rust, then change a bit of it to red, then make it b&w without losing the rust which was impossible, they just looked grubby. Had to choose, B&W for one challenge or rusty for the other. So the compromise - desaturated it quite a lot.
I think this will have to go down as failing to do 3 challenges in one but if that's the worst thing that happens to me today I'll be ok. (touch wood).
#Should add my apologies... teenagers, work and fundraising have seriously hampered my 365ing this week. Hope to catch up very soon :}
Have a great weekend everyone and thank you, as always, for your generous time taken in viewing/commenting on my little offerings. :)
I think you should change your tag to include B&W . It is certainly close enough for me! The rustiness shows as texture as well as colour. Another great alphabet shot
Nice shot! I can see a H-int of red in the shadow it casts (I think! My eyes could be playing up today!).... Nice processing to get it the way you wanted! Very creative. Well done, Phil! :)
Here'a another challenge for you. You should tag all of these for the Eye of the beholder challenge - the most ordinary things turned into alphabet art. The link to the challenge is in my photo from yesterday. The tag is "eotb2"
Well, all things are possible, but not all are probable. However, you gave yourself a pretty tall order on this one. I call these "natural black and whites"- they don't really have a lot of color to begin with. And it's perfectly fine to create your own H when a natural one is not available. So don't worry about it- it's a fun alphabet and looks great so far!
I think you've desaturated just enough to still see the rust and to make the shadow red is ingenious. I'm thoroughly enjoying seeing your creativity develop along with your alphabet xx
