The Zig and the Zag by filsie65

The Zig and the Zag

What a day... not impressed to find a thick white blanket of snow covering Bedfordshire when we woke up and how we got Cathy to the train station in time to meet up with her class-mates for a school trip to Paris I don't know. I blubbed when I got back to the car (much to George's amusement) but know she'll have a great time and know she'll be ok. I also know I'll be pleased to have her back on Tuesday, safe and sound.
We continued through the snow to Milton Keynes for some nosh and shopping and found this apparently little used fire escape at Ikea. The weather didn't really allow much urban exploration so I hope to find something extra tomorrow when we go to the big smokey (London) to see the Ansel Adams exhibition in Greenwich and explore where our noses take us.. with our cameras of course!

Thank you so much for your appreciation of my chocolate shot yesterday... good to know I'm here with such similarly-minded folk! Sadly the Friday cake has all gone.. but you'd be welcome to join me next Friday if you're peckish! (It was M&S extremely chocolately roll, by the way..) Have a great Sunday and keep warm!
Cracking shot Phil. Enjoy Ansel Adams, it's great. Man Ray at the Nat Portrait Gallery is superb too.

Nicely composed - great lines and textures, and cool high-key too :)
I hope you avoid getting snowed in anywhere.

"Little used fire escapes" are the best kind! I like it in B&W and the falling snow.

The lines and tones are wonderful. The falling snow adds a neat layer of texture to the shot.

It reminds me of an Escher painting. Nice perspective.

Oh no. Sorry!! Being behind I commented on yesterday and have just read the end of today's so know it's M&S swiss roll...thought I recognised it and now feel even hungrier for cake ;o) I hope Cathy has a wonderful time, I'm sure she will but can empathise with how you feel too. This is an awesome shot. Love the lines and angles and different shades of grey xx

Great lines and shapes and repeating elements.

Good catch- love the lines and geometrical patterns! And don't feel bad about the snow- after a nice sunny day today, snow is expected tomorrow. I have to laugh- some fellow from Ohio has decided to sue the Ground Hog here in PA who predicts when Spring will arrive! Some people have too much time on their hands- but in this case I can certainly understand the frustration!

I like this shot and the way you processed it. It is very cool how you captured the stairs making a zigzag pattern. Love the tone and the lines. You always seem to take pics of the ordinary and make it lovely. Well done! Sorry to hear about your snow. We need to kick Ma Nature's backside!
