I feel my England has taken a battering in the last 24 hours - first the football team was out of the world cup, (first time since 1958 it hasn't progressed), then the rugby team got hammered by the All Blacks in New Zealand. I remembered this rose, which I bought in the Jubilee year 2012, and found it looking red and lovely as it unfolded today - as my home nation is always in a state of change and always lovely. (cropped but sooc).
Thanks for calling by - sorry for being a rubbish follower... if I can get out of clearing out the workshop tomorrow for a while you know where I'll be - here, catching up with you x PS I was chuffed witless that some of you added my poppies to your fave folders - thank you for the honour (blush) :)
We need to regroup Phil......all these young football countries are so keen ....& not paid as much! We watched the rugby...thought they had done pretty well over the three matches on the whole...All Blacks so hard to beat...lovely red rose!
Lovely. A perfect capture of the red. My camera ( or is it the photographer?) won't reproduce red just as I want it to look. Is there something I'm missing?
What a beautiful rose, Phil. It's so pretty. What a lovely shade of red. I was gutted when England lost and then were out of the tournament. I actually started crying. My other half said I jinxed England because they've not gotten knocked out in the first round since 1958. I feel horrible. I love England and would so love to see it in person. Til then, you and others are showing me around with your photos.
Hi Phil! I am your Get Pushed partner this week. Your shots of flowers and nature are beautiful - you have certainly developed a degree of mastery in this area. Nature is certainly something you enjoy taking photos of.
How about a creative challenge instead of a technical challenge? I need you to find nature in the middle of someplace urban - A blade of green grass growing under train tracks; a weed struggling to find the sun from between a concrete sidewalk; a rose in a junk yard. The idea is to draw a contrast between the natural and the man made. Make it as striking a difference as you can. Good luck and happy shooting!
