The Shambles (2)

This is a view from the opposite direction to the shot of the Shambles that Lucy posted yesterday.

Our Christmas Day walk around some of the tourist sites in York city centre was a real novelty, with everywhere really quiet, and not a tourist in sight - just us and a few other photographers taking advantage of the almost deserted city streets. I wonder if any of them were fellow 365ers?

@padlock

I can recommend it! Christmas day is the one day of the year when there aren't crowds of tourists around, and photos that aren't usually possible suddenly become easy! There were just us and a few other photographers around.

A great composition and especially beautiful without any people! I bought some curtain material on this street in 1970 - and my ever-resourceful daughter-in-law made the last of it into a (somewhat strange) dress for her daughter last year!

@dolphin

Thank you Molly - it was great to see the tourist sites without tourists. The Shambles used to have a fascinating range of shops, but sadly they are changing more and more to tourist shops.
