So, a simple idea, walk beside the River Ouse south from the centre of York, cross the Millennium Bridge and back to the city centre on the opposite bank. It was a beautiful sunny day and the autumn colours really were at their best, so the walk took rather a long time with frequent stops for photos.
Here I'm on the east bank of the river, just north of Blue Bridge (just visible in the distance) where the River Foss flows into the River Ouse.
The riverside path here is known as New Walk, and it is where Victorian ladies and gentlemen would promenade so they could see and be seen.
