Half Way There by fishers

Half Way There

Scarborough Bridge is primarily a railway bridge carrying tracks from York railway station towards Scarborough. Alongside the railway there was a narrow footbridge with steep steps to the riverside at either end. The footbridge is in the process of being replaced. The old bridge spans have been removed, and the first of the two new wider spans was lowered into place last Saturday night, with the second span due to be installed tomorrow night. When completed the bridge will have ramped access so that it can also be used by cyclists, wheelchairs and pushchairs - a considerable improvement on it's predecessor.
