There was quite a crowd at York railway station this afternoon, with a steam hauled special having arrived from Ealing Broadway (London). The 'Duchess of Sutherland' has in the past been a frequent visitor to York, but today was the first time I've seen it since completion of it's 10 year overhaul.
Thank you all for your comments and fav, they are appreciated. It was good to get chance to get a few shots of this lovely locomotive. There should also have been a second steam special passing through York pulled by 'Union of South Africa' but sadly that was cancelled. The summer usually provides numerous opportunities to see and photograph steam on weekly services to Scarborough, so expect more steam in the comming months!
