While taking shots of the steam locomotive 'Duchess of Sutherland' yesterday I spotted these Steampunk fans. I presume they had arrived on the steam special since they were using it as the background for their photos.
Since I'm not sure how well known Steampunk is, this is the definition from Wikipedia - "Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery."
Update - It seems I was wrong about the Steampunks - they are the White Rose Yorkshire Steampunks group on their annual outing to the railway museum at York and taking advantage of the visiting steam train for photos.
@kwind@dide@seattlite@stevepam@pyrrhula@s4sayer Thank you for your comments and favs, it's good to hear from you all. I've edited the text to share my latest discoveries about this group of steampunks. I wonder if HG Wells was the original steampunk?
