If it's Wednesday, this must be London

I'm visiting Lucy and her family for a few days, so I arrived in London around lunch time today. I did a little exploring, which involved a call at Paddington railway station after a walk through what was once a canal basin, but which has been regenerated. I found this sculpture of a fictional visitor to the city (Paddington Bear) who was named after the railway station.

Posts for the next few days will probably be rather erratic while I'm away from home.

Has to be a fav. I love to read Paddington Bear to classes I teach in NZ.

wonderful take of this statue of Paddington - the whole canal is worth walking through the centre of London, including Little Venice. And Paddington has had so much work done on it over the years.

London is a fascinating place, with so much to see and do. Each of the railway stations has it's own character, and Paddington is in a process of change with the transition from HST trains to IEP trains. The short section of the canal I walked yesterday has also been transformed. I have previously walked the Regents Canal from just north of Kings Cross to Little Venice and Paddington and it's a fascinating trip. But for much of this visit I will be in south-west London, hopefully discovering a few new places as well as spending time with Lucy and playing with my grandaughter Natalya
